Free State Music Association Executives

1. Ayanda Arthur Roda - Chairperson and PR, Projects Manager

Ayanda Roda

Ayanda Roda is a prominent cultural activist and a notable figure in the South African arts and culture scene. He is the founder of the Free State International Music Conference and serves as a director of Danduza Production, which played a pivotal role in establishing Tse’pe music and managed several artists, including MC Fire, Kommanda Obbs, and others. Currently, he holds the position of national Arts Education chairperson in South Africa and serves on the board of the Independent Music Performance Rights Association (IMPRA). Additionally, he is a former board member of Association of Independent Record Companies of South Africa (AIRCO) and Secretary-General of CCIFSA. His company, Danduza Production, has provided PR and marketing services for several prominent festivals in South Africa, including the Northern Cape Festival, Northern Cape Awards, Lemo Fest, Jazz by the River, Go Vaal, and the Uhuru AIDS Festival 2024.

Currently serving as Provincial Secretary for Free State at National Arts Education Authority Council in South Africa (NAEA)

3. Tharollo Mzuzwana - Projects Coordinator, Production Manager and Stage Manager

Tharollo Mzuzwana

With over 20 years of experience in the creative industry, I've built a career that blends artistic vision with project expertise. Starting as a dancer and choreographer, I transitioned into stage management and project coordination, where I've coordinated productions big and small. My focus is on bringing people and projects together seamlessly. I've worked across various productions, ensuring logistics, timelines, and creative goals align. From high-energy dance shows to intricate theater productions, I've mastered the balance of artistic intent and operational delivery. My drive is to make impactful projects happen. Currently venturing into the music industry under Free State Music Association as their project coordinator, I'm honored to bring my skills to new creative partnerships.

5. Pheello Rasello - Legal & Research

Pheello Rasello

My name is Pheello Rasello; mostly known by my pseudonym: Thinkincap The-Penslinger. I am a Writer, a Poet, spoken word practitioner, literary enthusiast and a publisher author (recently published a solo form poetry anthology compilation compilation, entitled: Futuristic Thinks. I am the co-director of the Archives Poetry Group (organizing, hosting and coordinating spoken poetry events, competitions, workshops and festivals around Free-State), director and chairperson of Black Roots Productions Pty Ltd, working in business arts administration services (from events/projects management, facilitation, training, cultural entrepreneurship, arts education, digital migration, book editing, curatorship and publishing. I served for 5 years as the Chief Administrator in the CCIFSA Free-State Provincial Office; working under the tutorship of Mr. Ayanda Roda (the then provincial coordinator, and the CCIFSA Secretary General), I also serve as the Treasurer General of the South African Association of Arts Administrators (SAAAA); here we deal robustly with arts administration, and are established in all 9 provinces. I am currently serving as the Treasurer General of the National Arts Education Authority Council in South Africa: NAEA (working with the department of sports, arts and culture). Here we aim to alleviate poverty and create employment by advocating for the new reimagined Creative Arts Education policies, intervention and curriculum, to help turn around the tides in the South African creative and cultural industries; by effecting change from both grassroots (ECD and CAC), tertiary and adult phases in South Africa. Currently heading the research department at the Free-State Music Association (at the Free-State Music Association; we do everything related to music rights and music business: workshops, indabas, festivals, intellectual property and copyright). My life is simply ARTistic.
